Nomad Stages Adult Production Participation Policy
Community Impact Productions vs Training-Based Adult Programs

Nomad Stages proudly offers two categories of adult theatre experiences: Training-Based Adult Productions and Community Impact Productions. These categories allow us to support high-quality performance training while also creating accessible opportunities for large-scale, culturally significant shows.

This policy explains the difference between the two models and clarifies when cast participation fees apply.
Training-Based Adult Productions (Standard Model)
These productions function similarly to an adult performing arts class. They include:
-
Regular weekly training
-
Vocal and dance technique development
-
Character work and acting coaching
-
Small to medium-sized casts (10 - 35 cast members)
-
Intensive rehearsal processes focused on skill-building
Participation Fee:
Yes — these programs include a cast participation fee.
This fee supports instruction, staffing, rehearsal space, costumes, props, and production expenses.
Examples:
-
Chicago (Adult cast)
-
The Prince of Egypt (Mixed-age cast)
-
Other future fall or winter adult programs
Participation fees make these productions possible and ensure high-quality instruction and performance standards.

Community Impact Productions (Special Model: No Fee)
Some productions at Nomad Stages hold extraordinary cultural, historical, or community significance. These shows are designated as Community Impact Productions.
These productions may:
-
Celebrate Newfoundland culture or Atlantic Canadian history
-
Involve larger casts or community choirs (25 - 40+ members)
-
Prioritize accessibility and diversity
-
Feature community engagement, outreach, or local collaboration
-
Be supported by partnerships (such as the Ala’suinu’k Foundation), grants, and sponsorships
Participation Fee:
No — these productions do not require a cast fee.
Participation is free and open to the community.
Optional:
A voluntary “Support the Show” contribution may be available for those who wish to help offset production expenses.
Example:
-
Come From Away (June 2026)

-

-
Sustain our studio financially in a fair and transparent way
-
