"Music therapy is a discipline in which Certified Music Therapists (MTAs) use music purposefully within therapeutic relationships to support development, health, and well-being. Music therapists use music safely and ethically to address human needs within cognitive, communicative, emotional, musical, physical, social, and spiritual domains." -Canadian Association of Music Therapists September 2020 Book a private sessions in music therapy with music therapy assistant, Mikaela Griffiths-Bester. Mikaela has a masters degree in Music Therapy and is currently certified to work as a music therapist in South Africa. She is awaiting accreditation from the Canadian Association of Music Therapists, and will be supervised by MTA LouAnn Davis until she is fully accredited in Canada. Sessions cost $35 for a 30 minute session, $45 for 45 minutes, and $60 for one hour.
Credit will not be given for missed classes due to illness, weather conditions when the studio remains open, or personal commitments. If student has an injury or illness that does not permit them to participate over an extended period of time a credit will be issued. In some cases, a doctor’s note is required. If a very young student is not ready to participate in a class after several visits, a refund of remaining tuition will be given. If a class is cancelled due to insufficient registration a full refund will be given. If the studio cancels a class for some reason the class will be made up at a later date.
